Sanitation Technician
Performs all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of production and packaging equipment daily while ensuring that all duties are performed in accordance with SSOP, HACCP, FDA, GMP’s, Safety policies, procedures as well as any other established policies and requirements necessary. Perform assigned task in relation to the cleaning and sanitizing of the manufacturing facility and equipment, in a timely manner and in accordance with quality standards and government regulations.
This position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and will serve as backup for the Supervisor position when necessary.
**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: **
- Follows all SSOP’s related to assigned task and accurately completes related documentation (including any necessary corrective action that was taken).
- Remove all trash and debris from the production processing, packaging, & dock areas.
- Clean up any spills of product or other foreign matter.
- Operate power scrubber, Foamer, forklift, and other cleaning equipment.
- Clean and Sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, conference rooms, and locker rooms when cleaning company is not present.
- Follow Master Sanitation daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly schedules as assigned by supervisor to ensure continuous sanitation maintenance program.
- Maintain chemical storage area in a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
- Confers with Sanitation Supervisor to receive scheduled sanitizing and cleaning assignments.
- Clean facility, walls, floors, racking, doors, etc. Clean facility building, grounds, lighting, parking lots, etc.
- May be designated by supervisor to supervise other Technicians when Sanitation Supervisor is not available.
- May be designated by supervisor to verify daily Technician task sheets and the Sanitation Schedule when Sanitation Supervisor is not available.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively, as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Standing or walking 100% of the time.
- Must be able to carry, twist, bend, and stoop in conjunction with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
