Position Summary 

Lanigan & Associates, P.C. is seeking motivated accounting students to join our Tax Department as paid interns. This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside CPAs and experienced tax professionals on a variety of client engagements. 

The internship is designed to last one academic semester, with the opportunity to continue into future semesters based on performance, availability, and firm needs. Successful interns often gain exposure to a broad range of tax compliance, tax planning, and client service responsibilities while building valuable professional skills. 

Responsibilities 

Assist with the preparation of individual, business, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns. 

Organize and analyze client financial information. 

Conduct tax research using professional tax resources. 

Assist with tax planning projects and special engagements. 

Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation. 

Collaborate with staff, managers, and partners on client assignments. 

Develop professional communication and client service skills. 

Qualifications 

Currently enrolled in an accounting program at Florida State University or another accredited university. 

Junior, senior, or graduate-level accounting student preferred. 

Strong academic performance, attention to detail, and organizational skills. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 

Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and taxation. 

CPA-track candidates are encouraged to apply. 

Compensation and Schedule 

Paid internship. 

Flexible schedule designed to accommodate academic commitments. 

Typical work schedule ranges from 10-20 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours when available. 

Opportunity to extend the internship into subsequent semesters.
