Entry-Level Paralegal

At WHW, our two-year Paralegal Program is designed for graduating college seniors and recent college graduates seeking substantive, hands-on legal experience before attending law school.

As a WHW Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys at all levels and play an integral role on both high-profile and pro bono matters. Under the supervision of the Firm’s Director of Legal Support and Professional Development, you will receive comprehensive, in-house training and gain meaningful exposure to every stage of the litigation process—from initial client engagement and factual investigation through discovery, trial, and appeals.

This is more than an entry-level position. Our Paralegals make a direct contribution to their case teams while developing the research, writing, technology, case-management, and legal skills essential to a successful career in law. By the end of the two-year program, you will have gained substantive experience and a strong foundation for the next step in your legal career.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including excellent proofreading and editing abilities
  • A high level of proficiency and aptitude with computer software, applications, and technology
  • A service-oriented mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, drive projects to completion, and maintain a positive, team-focused attitude
  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 upon graduation

Your Opportunities

As a WHW Paralegal, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare, edit, and maintain administrative and client-related documents, including correspondence, document productions, and court filings
  • Conduct and summarize legal and factual research for potential, active, and related matters
  • Assist with the preparation for and take notes during depositions, client meetings, proffers, court appearances, and other case-related meetings
  • Receive in-house training in Microsoft applications, Bluebook, Westlaw, and PACER
  • Perform cite-checking, document processing, and electronic filings in both state and federal courts
  • Participate in ongoing team trainings and work directly with attorney mentors to develop your skills and advance your professional goals
