A well-established, family-owned building materials company in Walled Lake is seeking a highly organized and motivated Executive Assistant & Sales Support Specialist to work directly with company leadership.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to gain experience across multiple areas of a growing business, including operations, logistics, sales support, customer service, and human resources.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required and will be a key part of the selection process. The successful candidate will assist with customer quoting, data management, and various operational tasks that require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Position Summary
This role serves as the primary support person to the Vice President and will become a trusted partner in helping manage day-to-day operations. The position offers broad exposure to business management and provides significant opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist company leadership with daily tasks and priorities
- Coordinate schedules, communications, and follow-up activities
- Support operational and logistical planning
- Assist with problem-solving and process improvement initiatives
- Prepare customer quotes using Microsoft Excel
- Maintain pricing spreadsheets and quote templates
- Organize and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy
- Assist with reporting and administrative data management
- Help customers with product selections and inquiries
- Support sales representatives with quotes, orders, and customer communication
- Provide excellent service through phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships
- Contact and schedule applicants for interviews
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding activities
- Support general office administration and HR-related tasks
Qualifications
Required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent computer and typing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Dependable, professional, and eager to learn
Preferred
- Experience in construction, building materials, manufacturing, or a related industry
- Administrative, executive assistant, customer service, or inside sales experience
- Experience creating quotes, estimates, or pricing sheets
