Insurance Agent Job Responsibilities:
Health insurance sales to individuals including sales of Medicare health plans, health, life and other insurance products which require a Life, Health and Accident license. Provides service to clients' changing insurance needs by selling life, health, and other insurance.
Insurance Agent Job Duties:
- Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking and marketing to find new customers.
- Soliciting potential clients by utilizing different types of marketing.
- Create a sales funnel of potential clients.
- Determines clients' particular needs and financial situations by scheduling fact-finding appointments; determining extent of present coverage; ascertaining timing of insurance needs, even long-term planning.
- Develops a protection plan by calculating and quoting rates for immediate coverage and long-term strategy.
- Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various products to promote sales of insurance plans.
- Completes and processes applications for coverage, including follow up with the carriers to be sure policies get issued.
- Contact with clients to follow up on policies; planning future follow-up visits and evaluations of changing needs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in meetings, webinars, and other educational opportunities to learn about new products and services; keeping aware of industry and carrier updates; and participating in professional organizations.
