Seasonal Field Scientist Intern for Fall 2026
DuBois & Associates is seeking a motivated Seasonal Field Scientist Intern to assist with northern pine snake monitoring during the Fall 2026 field season.
The primary responsibility of this position will be conducting routine checks of snake traps at project sites in New Jersey. The intern will work under the direction of experienced environmental scientists and biologists and will gain hands-on experience with wildlife monitoring and environmental fieldwork.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting scheduled checks of northern pine snake traps
- Inspecting and maintaining traps and associated exclusion fencing
- Documenting field observations and site conditions
- Accurately completing field data sheets and monitoring records
- Photographing and documenting wildlife observations as required
- Assisting DuBois biologists with other environmental field activities as needed
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and field conditions
- Dependable and able to follow established monitoring schedules and protocols
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document field observations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently after appropriate training
