Accounting Intern

Qualifications

We're seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented student pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance who possesses:

  • Strong computer and internet navigation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions, filters, and tables.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and proactively seek additional work when available.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • A desire to learn about accounting operations and the retail industry.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including providing regular updates on tasks, projects, and availability.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with members of the Accounting team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with banking and cash management activities.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries.
  • Research account activity and perform account analysis.
  • Code and allocate expenses.
  • Review stock ledger and inventory records.
  • Utilize the company's ERP system to retrieve, analyze, and report financial information.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Support the Accounting team with special projects and other ad hoc assignments.

Internship Details

  • Part-time position during the academic year.
  • Optional overtime may be available during peak business periods.
  • Paid internship.
  • Open to junior- or senior-level students pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Internship may qualify for college credit, subject to your school's approval.
