Graduate Student Intern - S4 Database & Program Support
Join the Center for Experiential Learning and Innovation (CELI) in advancing CSUMB’s mission to provide transformative, hands-on learning opportunities that empower students to connect classroom theory with real-world experience.
The Graduate Student Intern – S4 Database & Program Support will help maintain, analyze, and improve the S4 Database, CSUMB’s system for managing site agreements, student learning plans, and liability forms. This internship blends data analytics, process improvement, and professional communication, offering an opportunity to gain valuable experience in higher education administration and system management.
Hours: 10- 20 hours per week (flexible around graduate course schedules)
Interns will receive mentorship from CELI professional staff, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop career-ready skills in analytics, communication, and workflow design.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct S4 database cleanup and ensure data accuracy.
- Query, analyze, and report data to support decision-making.
- Assist with S4 system maintenance and updates.
- Develop and update policy and process documentation.
- Create infographics and guides for internal and external users.
- Communicate with departments, programs, and learning sites to share instructions and updates.
- Route University-Affiliated Agreement Processing System (UAAPS) forms for signatures and maintain tracking records.
- Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications and Skills Desired
- Database Knowledge: Coursework or experience in data or CRM systems.
- Data Analytics: Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools.
- Technical Writing: Clear, concise documentation and guide development.
- Graphic Design: Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
- Customer Service: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data management and reporting.
- Preferred: Experience with project management or workflow software in higher education settings.
