Role summary: This role supports the LAB webinar series by connecting with real estate industry professionals to learn from them, shadow, and assist with light operational tasks (where permitted). You’ll build a first-person understanding of multiple career paths — and help bring those professionals into our community as speakers, mentors, and partners.

Why this role matters: Students and adult learners learn best from real professionals. This internship helps LABco build a reliable pipeline of industry voices while giving you real exposure to the day-to-day work across the real estate ecosystem.

This is a great role for someone exploring real estate careers who’s curious, professional, and comfortable reaching out to adults/organizations with clear communication.

What you’ll do

  • Identify and connect with professionals across the real estate industry (agent/admin, mortgage loan officer/admin, attorney/admin, appraiser, title & insurance/admin).
  • Support outreach and scheduling for shadowing moments, short interviews, and potential webinar guest spots.
  • Prepare simple “shadowing briefs” (who they are, what they do, what you want to learn, key questions).
  • Attend shadowing sessions (virtual or in-person where available) and capture structured notes.
  • Support webinar readiness by helping confirm speaker availability, bios, and basic assets (as assigned).
  • Share learnings back to the team: what each role does, what skills/tools matter, and what pathways exist.

You’re a great fit if you

  • Are interested in real estate careers and want real-world exposure (not just theory).
  • Can communicate professionally by email/text/DM and follow up reliably.
  • Are organized: you can track contacts, schedules, and notes without losing details.
  • Understand boundaries: you can learn and observe without handling sensitive client information.

Weekly deliverables

  • Outreach + follow-up activity logged (contacts reached, responses, next steps)
  • Shadowing notes organized in the shared folder (role overview + key takeaways)
  • Updated checklist for assigned activation(s)
  • Post-activation recap support (highlights, outcomes, issues)

Time commitment

  • 8–12 hours/week, depending on number of shadowing sessions and webinar needs.
  • Industry outreach + follow-ups (agents, MLOs, attorneys, appraisers, title/insurance): 2.0–3.5 hrs
  • Shadowing sessions (virtual/in-person) + structured note-taking: 2.0–4.0 hrs
  • Speaker pipeline support (availability checks, bios, basic assets, confirmations): 1.0–2.0 hrs
  • Webinar live support (2 sessions/week, as assigned): 1.0–2.5 hrs
  • Post-session recap + file organization (highlights, takeaways, folder hygiene): 0.5–1.5 hrs
  • Self-study/role research (understanding each role + pathways): 0.5–1.5 hrs

Tools

  • Phone camera (minimum) / camera (preferred)
  • Slack
  • Google Drive
  • Basic editing tool (Canva / CapCut / Premiere Rush, etc.)
  • Checklists, run-of-show, schedule tracker
  • Shared drive folder for assets and notes
  • Outreach scripts + tracking sheet (provided)

Non-negotiables (compliance + safety)

  • Be dependable and communicative.
  • Keep materials organized and easy to find.
  • No client PII (no names, addresses, loan details, financial docs, or screenshots of sensitive systems).
  • Educational only: do not provide individualized legal/financial/tax advice.
