Interior Designer Showroom Manager

We are seeking a versatile, organized, and customer-focused individual to help manage the day-to-day operations of a lighting, and home improvement showroom.

This position combines showroom sales, customer service, scheduling, product management, basic kitchen and cabinet design, e-commerce, and digital marketing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with customers while also handling computer and administrative work to keep the business organized and growing.

This is an excellent position for someone who enjoys design and home improvement but also has strong organizational and computer skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Showroom Sales & Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers in the showroom.
• Help customers select lighting, ceiling fans, cabinetry, and related home products.
• Learn customers' needs, style preferences, budgets, and project requirements.
• Prepare product selections, quotes, and proposals.
• Follow up with customers on open quotes, orders, and projects.
• Develop product knowledge and become comfortable explaining product differences and options.

Service Scheduling & Project Coordination

• Manage the service and installation schedule.
• Schedule appointments for customers, installers, electricians, and service calls.
• Coordinate customer appointments and communicate scheduling changes.
• Maintain information regarding active jobs, upcoming work, and outstanding customer needs.
• Help ensure materials and products are available before scheduled installations.

Shopify & Product Management

• Maintain and update products in our Shopify online store.
• Add new products, photos, descriptions, specifications, pricing, and other product information.
• Update inventory and product availability.
• Correct or improve existing product listings.
• Organize products into appropriate categories and collections.
• Assist with online orders and customer inquiries.

Kitchen & Cabinet Design

• Meet with customers interested in cabinetry and help develop preliminary layouts and product selections.
• Create basic kitchen, bathroom, and cabinet designs using basic design software.

This is primarily a sales-oriented design function. Extensive architectural or interior-design experience is not required, but the candidate should have good spatial awareness and an interest in learning kitchen and cabinet design.

Digital Marketing

• Help manage the company's social media presence.
• Create and post photographs, product information, promotions, completed projects, and showroom content.
• Assist with Facebook, Instagram, and other social-media advertising.
• Help maintain and improve Google Ads campaigns.
• Monitor basic advertising results, inquiries, and lead sources.
• Assist with maintaining accurate business information and promotions online.
• Help develop marketing ideas to generate showroom traffic, website sales, and service leads.

Desired Skills

The ideal candidate will have several of the following:

• Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
• Professional customer-service and communication skills.
• Retail, showroom, design, or home-improvement sales experience.
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software.
• Experience with Shopify or another e-commerce platform.
• Familiarity with basic design software.
• Experience with social media for a business.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn Google Ads or other digital advertising platforms.
• Ability to work independently and manage several different responsibilities during the day.
• Attention to detail when entering product information, pricing, orders, and customer information.
• Interest in lighting, interior design, kitchens, cabinetry, construction, or home improvement.

Experience

Experience in lighting, cabinetry, kitchens, interior design, furniture, appliances, construction, or home-improvement retail would be particularly valuable.

Previous experience with Design Flex or ProKitchen is helpful but not mandatory. We are willing to train a capable person who has good computer skills, design aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

The Person We Are Looking For

This position requires someone who can move comfortably between different types of work. During one part of the day you may be helping a customer select lighting or cabinets, and later you may be updating products on Shopify, arranging an installation appointment, preparing a cabinet layout, or working on an online advertising campaign.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, follows through with customers, keeps information organized, and is interested in learning enough about the business to become an important part of its daily operation.

The right person should enjoy both working with people and working with technology and should be interested in developing broad knowledge of lighting, cabinetry, design, e-commerce, and home-improvement products.
