Social Media Intern

Thrifters app is looking for a creative, self-motivated Social Media Intern (paid) to help bring our brand to life online! If you love thrifting, storytelling, and all things social media, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Role

As our Social Media Intern, you'll work closely with our team to grow Thrifters' presence across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. You'll get hands-on experience creating content, tracking engagement, and helping shape our online voice — all while learning the ins and outs of a young startup. We prefer in person candidates but are open to virtual as well. 

What You'll Do

Use Canva and CapCut to design and edit content (and be excited to build on those skills!)
Get to know the Thrifters ethos and purpose, and use that understanding to write captions and content in our friendly, approachable tone
Create engaging posts for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook — including captions and relevant hashtags
Monitor social media stats and respond to comments/messages to help maximize engagement
Stay open to feedback and creative direction from the team
Organize and manage files using Google Drive, adapting to our preferred systems
Research new apps and tools to help improve and expand our marketing approach

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Canva, and CapCut
Comfortable using Google Drive & shared docs
Knowledgeable in video editing in a way that aligns with the brand
Punctual and reliable
A team player who collaborates well with others
A self-starter who can manage their own time and workload

This is an in person role with a small team in La Costa, close to CSUSM. Happy to do the paperwork for school credit as well. $18/hr to start; 8-20 hrs/wk 3mos term.
