Position: Intern at LASE Innovation, Inc.

Location: Waltham, MA

About the Role

Join a small, fast-moving biotech startup at the forefront of next-generation flow cytometry technology. Lab intern will work alongside our Applications Team to develop and optimize cell-based assay workflows that directly support the development of our novel flow cytometry platform. This is a hands-on opportunity for a motivated undergraduate or Master student to gain real-world experience in immunology, live single-cell assays, and cutting-edge instrument development.


Responsibilities will include:

- Assist in the development and optimization of cell-based assay workflows for a novel flow cytometry system 

- Support immune cell isolation protocols (e.g., PBMCs, T cell subsets) from primary human samples 

- Perform in vitro cell-based assays under the guidance of senior researchers 

- Conduct flow cytometry experiments and assist with data collection 

- Contribute to lab organization, reagent preparation, and general benchwork as needed

Requirements:
- At least a sophomore in undergraduate studies or above pursuing a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. Master program preferred.

- Hands-on wet lab (benchwork) experience 

-  Sterile cell culture technique 

-  Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable working in a collaborative team setting 

-  Adaptable, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving 

-  Safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to lab compliance

Preferred Skills:
- Background or coursework in immunology or immuno-oncology
- Genuine interest in biotech innovation and startup culture 

- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for basic data logging and presentation 

 

Timeline:

Position is open for immediate hiring, but internship can start this fall semester or spring semester. Both part-time and full-time options are available.
