Marketing & Operations Coordinator (Intern)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Workplace: Onsite, 5 days per week
Start Date: Immediate
About Origami Robotics
We’re solving dexterous manipulation by building our own robotic hand, data-collection devices, and models for physical AI. We’re backed by Y Combinator and work with leading robotics labs, including Amazon.
We recently moved into a 13,000-square-foot space in South Park, with a full open robotics workspace on the first floor. We’re a small, fast-moving team where you’ll take real ownership and see the impact of your work from day one.
The Role
We’re looking for a resourceful, highly organized Marketing & Operations Coordinator Intern who can help us tell our story, run our workplace, and build systems that make the company operate more effectively.
This is not a role where you’ll only execute a fixed list of tasks. You’ll move between marketing projects, office operations, recruiting support, vendor coordination, events, and unexpected problems. You should be comfortable taking an ambiguous challenge, breaking it down, and building a repeatable system to solve it.
You’ll also use AI tools to research, create content, automate workflows, organize information, and improve how the team works. We don’t expect you to know everything on day one, but we do expect you to learn quickly, experiment thoughtfully, and take ownership.
What You’ll Do
Marketing
- Help develop and execute marketing initiatives across social media, recruiting, events, partnerships, and company communications
- Create and manage content for platforms such as LinkedIn, X, and the company website
- Turn technical work, company milestones, and behind-the-scenes moments into clear, engaging stories
- Capture and organize photos and videos of robots, demos, events, and day-to-day company life
- Support recruiting marketing and employer-branding initiatives
- Research relevant industry trends, events, communities, partners, and content opportunities
- Help plan company events, demos, visits, and community gatherings
- Track marketing projects and results, then use what you learn to improve future work
- Maintain a consistent company voice and brand across materials and channels
Operations
- Keep our San Francisco office running smoothly day to day
- Work with our designer and team to set up and bring the new space to life
- Coordinate facilities, maintenance, repairs, upkeep, and landlord communication
- Manage vendors across meals, supplies, services, and maintenance
- Prepare desks, devices, access, and other essentials for new hires
- Manage office tools and systems, including badge access, Ring, shared documents, and internal trackers
- Own meals, snacks, supplies, and kitchen organization
- Handle mail, deliveries, packages, visitors, and service providers
- Keep the workspace clean, organized, functional, and welcoming
- Notice gaps before they become problems and take ownership of resolving them
Systems and AI
- Turn recurring or messy processes into clear, repeatable systems
- Build lightweight workflows, trackers, documentation, dashboards, and automations
- Use AI tools to support research, writing, content production, data organization, and operational problem-solving
- Evaluate new tools and find practical ways to make the team faster and more effective
- Document processes so they are easy for others to understand and use
- Take complex, ambiguous problems from “we should fix this” to a working solution
- Continuously improve existing workflows instead of accepting inefficient processes
Let’s Talk If You
- Are highly organized and care deeply about details
- Communicate clearly and have strong written English
- Can manage multiple projects without losing track of the small things
- Are resourceful, self-directed, and comfortable working through ambiguity
- Think in systems and look for root causes instead of relying on temporary fixes
- Can take an idea, break it into steps, and drive it through completion
- Are creative and interested in storytelling, branding, and content
- Enjoy hands-on work and are willing to jump into whatever needs attention
- Learn new software and AI tools quickly
- Have good judgment about when to solve something yourself and when to ask for help
- Want to work closely with a technical, fast-moving robotics team
Bonus Points
- You’ve worked in marketing, office operations, community, events, or startup operations
- You’ve created social media, photo, video, or written content
- You’ve planned events, demos, or team gatherings
- You’ve helped with an office move, build-out, or new-space setup
- You’ve built workflows or automations using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, or Make
- You’re comfortable with Slack, Google Workspace, website tools, and access-control systems
- You’re interested in robotics, AI, startups, or technical storytelling
You don’t need to match every qualification. We care most about ownership, judgment, learning speed, and your ability to build useful systems that solve real problems.
