Underwriting Graduate Program - P28

Launch Your Career in Underwriting

The Beazley Underwriting Graduate Program (P28) is a 12-month development program designed to help you build a successful career in the insurance industry.

Whether you're already familiar with insurance or exploring it for the first time, P28 provides the training, mentorship, and hands-on experience needed to develop into a future underwriter. Throughout the program, you'll gain exposure to Beazley's specialty insurance products, learn from experienced professionals, and build the technical and professional skills required for long-term success.

 

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will transition into a permanent underwriting role within the business.

What You'll Do

During the program, you will:

  • Participate in a structured curriculum covering insurance fundamentals and underwriting practices
  • Learn about Beazley's specialty insurance products and markets
  • Work alongside experienced underwriting professionals
  • Complete presentations, projects, and case studies
  • Build relationships with colleagues, brokers, clients, and industry partners
  • Develop analytical, commercial, and decision-making skills
  • Prepare to transition into a permanent underwriting position following successful completion of the program

 

Location & Mobility Requirements

 

Important: Geographic Flexibility is Required

The P28 program is hosted in our Atlanta, GA office. Relocation support will be provided for candidates who are not currently based in Atlanta.

Following completion of the program, participants will be matched to a permanent underwriting role within a Beazley product line. Individual skills, interests, and career goals will be considered; however, final placement will be determined by business need and available opportunities at the time.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome candidates from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

While degrees in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics, and related disciplines are preferred, prior insurance experience is not required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Internship, leadership, extracurricular, or other relevant experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business applications
  • Fluency in English and additional languages where required by the business
