TRIUMPH Postdoctoral Fellowship

The MD Anderson Cancer Center TRIUMPH (Translational Research in Multi-Disciplinary Program) Postdoctoral Fellowship offers training in clinical and translational research. The primary goal of this program is to recruit talented and productive Ph.D. graduates, providing them with advanced training in clinical and translational cancer research through comprehensive coursework, clinical rotations, and unique interdisciplinary mentorships.

The CPRIT TRIUMPH Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is a three-year training initiative open to both early-stage and established postdoctoral fellows. Key features include:

• Didactic Coursework: Participants will undertake specialized courses at our graduate school.
• Clinical Rotations: Fellows will gain practical experience in clinical settings.
• Multi-Disciplinary Mentorship: Access to a diverse team of mentors, including a Nobel laureate, five National Academy members, 15 American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellows, and an AACR Awardee for Outstanding Achievement in Basic Cancer Research.

Selected fellows will have the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art research facilities alongside renowned faculty. Through an individualized development plan, each trainee will experience a fellowship tailored to their specific needs, positioning them for success both during the program and in their future careers.

Early Stage Postdoctoral Fellows:

1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from a top graduate program (U.S. or abroad) in any of the life or natural sciences within the last three years

2. Dedication to pursue translational cancer research

3. Junior postdoctoral fellows (less than one and a half years of experience) and graduate students within one year of their anticipated defense date are encouraged to apply

4. Publications in top tier journals (must have at least one accepted or published first or co-first author paper in a journal with an impact factor >8 at the time of application)

5. United States citizenship or permanent residency is not required. All foreign fellows must have an active visa for the duration of the fellowship

Established Post-Doctoral Fellows:

1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from a top graduate program (U.S. or abroad) in any of the life or natural sciences within the last three years.

2. Dedication to pursue translational cancer research

3. Must have no more than 3 years of postdoctoral experience by the time one starts our program if accepted

4. Has two or more first or co-first author papers in journals with an impact factor of >8. At least one publication should stem from previous post-doctoral work

5. United States citizenship or permanent residency is not required. All foreign fellows must have an active visa for the duration of the fellowship
