Brand and Marketing Internship
About Chefmaster
Chefmaster has been a trusted name in food coloring for more than 90 years. From vibrant Liqua-Gel® colors to natural food colors, glazes, and decorating products, we help professional bakers, food manufacturers, and home decorators bring creativity to life.
About the Role
Chefmaster is seeking a creative, hands-on Marketing & Brand Intern who enjoys baking and knows how to use food color in real applications. This role combines product creativity with practical marketing execution: developing recipes, preparing and decorating baked goods, creating compelling photo and video content, and helping bring Chefmaster’s brand strategy to life across channels.
This is not a digital-marketing-only internship. You will support advertising, brand development, product launches, packaging and sales materials, e-commerce, research, and day-to-day campaign execution. The ideal candidate can move comfortably between the test kitchen and the marketing workspace, balancing creativity with organization and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Recipe Development & Food-Color Application
- Develop, test, document, and refine recipes and decorating concepts that showcase Chefmaster food colors and products.
- Bake, decorate, and style cakes, cookies, frostings, beverages, and other applications for campaigns, product education, and demonstrations.
- Evaluate color performance, including shade, dosage, mixing, and finished appearance, and translate results into useful consumer content.
- Maintain organized recipe notes, ingredient lists, procedures, and product-use records to support repeatable results.
Content, Photography & Advertising
- Plan and produce high-quality product, process, recipe, and lifestyle photography and short-form video.
- Help create advertising concepts and campaign assets for social media, email, websites, marketplaces, print, retail, and sales presentations.
- Write or adapt recipe copy, captions, product stories, and educational content in Chefmaster’s brand voice.
- Assist with prop selection, food styling, shot lists, asset organization, and coordination with internal or external creative partners.
Brand Strategy & Marketing Execution
- Support brand strategy projects, including audience insights, positioning, messaging, portfolio planning, and competitive research.
- Help turn marketing plans into execution by coordinating timelines, samples, approvals, assets, and cross-functional deliverables.
- Assist with product launches, packaging updates, promotional programs, influencer or creator partnerships, and seasonal campaigns.
- Review marketing materials for brand consistency, product accuracy, and clear communication.
Channel, Event & Business Support
- Support social media, email, website, e-commerce, and marketplace content while keeping product information and merchandising current.
- Assist with trade shows, photo shoots, and other brand activations.
- Track campaign and content performance, gather customer and market feedback, and summarize actionable learnings.
Qualifications
- Hands-on baking, pastry, cake decorating, confectionery, or food-styling experience, with confidence using food color in recipes and finished applications.
- Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Brand Management, Communications, Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, Food Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong creative judgment and an interest in translating product features into recipes, visual stories, and customer-friendly marketing.
- Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an on-site, hands-on environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Basic photography and video skills; experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar tools is a plus.
What You’ll Gain
- Experience connecting brand strategy to real-world execution across advertising, content, product launches, e-commerce.
- Hands-on ownership of recipe and visual content featuring a nationally recognized food-color brand.
- Mentorship and cross-functional exposure within an established consumer products company.
