The Asian University for Women Support Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 nonprofit which is responsible for international resource mobilization and communications for the Asian University for Women (AUW). Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Program Associate - Writer is responsible for writing and editing various sizes of proposals, concept notes, and other writing associated with fundraising activities. This is a hands-on opportunity with a clear path for growth, suited to graduates with exceptional writing ability, an editorial eye, and a passion for developing skills across storytelling, content creation, and mission-driven engagement. The ideal candidate is independent, creative, and committed to long-term impact. They must be based in the Boston/Cambridge/Brookline area and able to commute to the office regularly. The candidate must be a resident of Massachusetts.

 

Responsibilities

· Write grant proposals, concept notes, and letters requesting funding from foundation, corporate and government funding sources;

· Write narratives for the Annual Reports;

· Craft speeches, press releases, and other communication materials (E-Newsletter/Social Media posts/Promotional materials);

· Manage and produce timely and accurate grant reports;

· Conduct prospect research on prospective foundation, corporate and government funders;

· Work closely with the President and CEO to develop projects within the fundraising workstream;

· Work closely with other development staff on implementing new projects.

 

Professional Experience/Qualifications

Excellent writing, editing and research skills are required. Very strong organizational skills and sense of self direction is required. Ability and desire to interact effectively with people of all backgrounds, nationalities and culture.  A Bachelor’s degree in English/Comparative Literature/Humanities/History, or related fields is required. 3 years of professional experience in nonprofits (or related fields) is required.
