Video Editor Intern

Job Title: Video Editor Intern, Automotive YouTube Channel

Job Type: Part-time internship (paid). Around 15-25 hours a month to start, remote friendly, flexible hours.

Location: Remote. DC metro preferred but not required.

Compensation: $20-35/hour depending on experience and portfolio

About Us

We're launching an automotive YouTube channel with one big advantage: the content already exists. I run a collector car flip operation, buying, fixing, and selling about one enthusiast vehicle a month. Before this I founded Pacer, an AI vehicle intelligence company that closed partnership deals with Ford and Amazon. Every month produces a new car, a new negotiation, real numbers, and a real outcome. Your job is turning that raw material into videos people actually finish watching.

The channel's voice, pacing, and style haven't been decided yet. The editor who joins now gets a real say in all of it.

What You'll Do

• Edit main channel videos (10-20 minutes) from raw footage to publish ready: story structure, pacing, music, graphics, color
• Cut vertical clips from long form footage for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok
• Work on thumbnails and titles with us, then look at the data together and iterate
• Help define the channel's editing identity. Every format decision is up for debate and we test what we argue about
• Own the post-production pipeline as we grow: file organization, versioning, publishing checklist

Who You Are

• A student with real editing skills in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve. Class projects, your own channel, or freelance work all count
• You understand YouTube pacing (hooks, retention, why people click away) or want to learn it from real analytics
• Self directed. You can take footage and a brief and come back with a cut
• Motion graphics, thumbnail design, or an interest in cars are all pluses but none are required

Your cuts go live with real view data attached. You'll see what performs, argue for your ideas, and watch them get tested within weeks. The channel's style will be partly yours since you're helping define it rather than inheriting it. The work fits around your class schedule, and hours, rate, and creative scope all scale as the channel does.
