Portage Bank is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payment Operations Analyst to join our growing Payment Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career professional interested in banking, financial technology (FinTech), payments, and operations.

No prior banking experience is required. We provide training and mentorship to help you develop expertise in payment systems, transaction processing, partner support, compliance, and financial operations.

What You'll Do

• Process and monitor ACH and wire transfer transactions.
• Review reports and reconcile daily transaction activity.
• Monitor payment system alerts and assist with issue resolution.
• Support fintech partners and customers by answering operational questions.
• Assist with payment processing, balancing, and end-of-day activities.
• Prepare operational, risk, and transaction volume reports.
• Support onboarding of new fintech partners and payment programs.
• Assist with audits, examinations, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and process guides.
• Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Work closely with Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Risk teams.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field, or anticipated graduation within the next six months.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, coursework, or work experience in banking, finance, accounting, customer service, operations, or technology.
• Exposure to financial services, payments, or fintech is a plus but not required.
• Experience working with data, reporting, or reconciliations is beneficial.
