Social Media Intern
This position will be 150 hours of work during the fall 2026 semester. The work will be on several properties around Swannanoa, NC in addition to some work in Asheville and remote work as appropriate. The intern will work with the executive director and garden managers to increase social media presence and to develop instructional videos for future volunteers and employees. World of Abundance is a fairly new nonprofit growing food for people in need in Swannanoa. They have basic Instagram and Facebook accounts. They have a Canva account which can be used to feed their social media posts but this will need to be configured. Social media posts will need to be in keeping with the mission of the organization and be supportive of greater collaboration among community members. A successful candidate will be able to show work created by themselves having examples of social media posts which are positive and uplifting and examples of engaging videos. This person will need organizational skills to plan and develop social media campaigns. The intern needs to be willing to learn and grow and reach out to experts to supplement their understanding when needed.
