Support The Idea Village's social media presence and help grow our connection to the New Orleans entrepreneurial community. Great fit for someone comfortable on camera and excited to learn how to talk about innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Use marketing strategy to help shape a content plan for social channels
- Create content across formats — reels, short-form video, static posts, and text posts
- Write in The Idea Village's brand voice to speak to current events and engage our audience
- Engage with local thought leaders, founders, and the broader NOLA entrepreneurial community to grow reach
- Respond to comments and engage with our community across platforms
- Appear on camera and speak to our programs and initiatives (no startup experience required — training provided)
Essential Skills:
- Comfortable being on camera and speaking to an audience
- Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X content formats
- Video editing skills (CapCut, InShot, Canva, or similar)
- Strong writing skills and ability to adapt tone to a brand voice
- Comfortable engaging with strangers/community members online
- Organized and able to stick to a content calendar
Internship Details:
- Fall semester (late August/early September through November); flexible start and end dates
- For academic credit only — this is an unpaid position
- Onboarding provided with your direct supervisor
- Weekly check-ins required with supervisor
- Virtual role with one in-office meeting per week
- Must be able to travel to the CBD in New Orleans for in-office meetings up to 1x/week
- Availability to support 1-2 fall events related to your internship focus area

Since its founding in 2000, The Idea Village has supported over 23,700+ entrepreneurs with mentorship, coaching, and access to capital, and alumni companies have generated nearly $2 billion in regional economic impact. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Idea Village runs business accelerator programs that guide startups from idea stage through venture capital rounds, working every day to build an inclusive, vibrant, and future-driven economy in the region.
We're looking for fall interns to support our accelerators, fundraising initiatives, and Momentum Fund operations — a fun, flexible place to gain real-world experience in the startup, finance, and venture capital ecosystems.
