We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of an OpenGov software implementation.
In this role, you will ensure project milestones are met, key stakeholders remain aligned, and the system implementation stays on schedule, within scope, and fully compliant with operational requirements. You will serve as the primary liaison between internal department leads, vendor implementation teams, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan detailing timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with implementation partners and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment on project goals, requirements, and expectations.
- Facilitate kickoff meetings, routine status updates, and formal progress reviews.
- Proactively identify risks, implementation barriers, and scheduling conflicts, working with leadership to resolve them quickly.
- Implementation Oversight:
- Ensure all required data, documentation, and existing process workflows are mapped and prepared for system integration.
- Oversee the configuration, testing, and validation of software modules.
- Monitor progress against key milestones and adjust project plans as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Track task completion across internal cross-functional teams to keep deliverables on schedule.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the central point of contact for all project-related communications and updates.
- Deliver regular progress updates to executive leadership, department heads, and vendor representatives.
- Facilitate decision-making processes and ensure clear documentation of scope changes or design updates.
- Training & User Adoption:
- Coordinate end-user training sessions with software representatives and internal trainers.
- Ensure team members understand updated workflows and new system capabilities.
- Support overall organizational readiness to drive high user adoption across departments.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, change logs, and risk registers.
- Track overall performance metrics and prepare post-implementation evaluation reports.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Strong foundation in project management principles, methodologies, and enterprise software implementation practices.
- Proven experience with workflow design, process mapping, and change management strategies.
- Knowledge of government or public-sector operational environments is preferred.
- Proficiency with modern project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly language.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of guiding cross-functional teams through complex organizational changes.
- Sharp problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
