About Us: The Group of Thirty (G30) is a non-partisan think tank and international forum that gathers senior representatives in economics and finance from the public and private sectors and academia to collectively advise policymakers and practitioners on issues impacting the world economy. The Group holds regular plenary sessions and seminars and publishes papers and reports on current economic and financial issues.
Who we are looking for: A responsible and self-starting college upperclassman with strong attention to detail and a background and interest in international economics and finance.
Skills required:
- Ability to research, summarize, and present financial and economic concepts.
- Experience identifying relevant news sources and articles, extracting main points, and writing clear summaries.
- Basic understanding of multilateral institutions, central banks, and financial current events.
- Strong writing, proofreading, editing skills, and intra-office communications skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, especially in written tasks.
- Ability to think proactively and conduct directed tasks swiftly.
- Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, and content management software skills; familiarity with Microsoft Access and SharePoint, professional social media experience highly considered.
Tasks include:
- Maintain a daily awareness of G30 Member activities, including actively tracking published articles, papers, and interviews, and drafting the monthly ‘Member in the News’ newsletter.
- Update the G30 website with member news articles and podcasts, membership changes, and G30 event pages.
- Assist with managing the G30 Twitter account.
- Support as needed G30 meetings and events, including preparation work, invitation list review and updates, and onsite logistics.
- Attend and take notes in G30 member virtual sessions and working group meetings, drafting summary memos and takeaways.
- Research support for the G30 Secretariat, including preparing memos and presentations on current economic events and global financial topics.
- Participate in professional economics association events when available.
- Assist with office duties as assigned.
