Position Summary
Brü City is seeking an experienced Alcoholic Beverage & Customer Experience Manager to lead the customer-facing experience, support the beer and wine program, oversee cigar and humidor standards, manage the growler station, strengthen vendor relationships, and maintain strong inventory discipline.
This role is ideal for a hospitality-minded leader with experience in specialty retail, cigar lounges, beer and wine programs, growler stations, taprooms, breweries, wine shops, liquor retail, bars, clubs, lounges, or similar customer-focused environments.
The right candidate must be able to lead employees, train the team, engage customers, manage product presentation, maintain compliance, and help create an elevated retail experience that feels professional, knowledgeable, and intentionally different.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, train, and hold team members accountable to Brü City’s service and operating standards.
- Create a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused environment that reflects the Brü City brand.
- Oversee the cigar lounge and humidor program, including cigar presentation, customer education, inventory organization, and quality standards.
- Manage and support the growler station, including product freshness, cleanliness, service standards, presentation, and employee training.
- Support the beer and wine program through merchandising, product recommendations, customer engagement, sales growth, and employee education.
- Manage inventory levels, product movement, ordering needs, stock rotation, shrink control, and product organization for cigars, beer, wine, growlers, and specialty items.
- Build and maintain professional vendor relationships to support product availability, pricing opportunities, promotions, merchandising support, and specialty program growth.
- Coordinate with vendors and company leadership on product selection, new items, displays, seasonal offerings, and sales-building opportunities.
- Train employees on customer service, cigar knowledge, wine basics, beer styles, growler service, product recommendations, inventory handling, and responsible alcohol and tobacco sales.
- Ensure strict compliance with all beer, wine, tobacco, cigar, vape, nicotine, and other age-restricted product regulations, including ID verification and responsible sales practices.
- Monitor store presentation, cleanliness, merchandising, product movement, shrink concerns, customer feedback, inventory accuracy, and employee execution.
- Work closely with company leadership to improve the Brü City concept, grow specialty product sales, strengthen vendor programs, and create a consistent premium customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Previous management, assistant management, supervisor, or lead experience.
- Strong customer service and hospitality background.
- Knowledge of beer and wine programs.
- Experience with cigars, cigar lounges, humidors, or premium tobacco products.
- Ability to manage inventory, product rotation, ordering needs, shrink concerns, and product presentation.
- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and support vendor-related execution.
- Ability to train, coach, and lead employees.
- Strong communication and customer engagement skills.
- Ability to maintain high standards for cleanliness, service, merchandising, inventory control, and compliance.
- Comfortable working with beer, wine, tobacco, cigars, vape, nicotine, and other age-restricted products.
- Strong understanding of responsible sales, ID checks, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating or managing a cigar lounge, growler station, beer and wine bar, wine shop, brewery, taproom, liquor store, club, upscale lounge, or hospitality-focused retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of cigars, cigar pairings, humidor maintenance, and cigar customer service.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, beer styles, craft beer, growler service, and beer/wine customer recommendations.
- Experience managing specialty product inventory, vendor relationships, ordering, merchandising, and promotional programs.
- Experience building or improving a specialty beer, wine, cigar, or hospitality program.
- Experience with inventory systems, product displays, vendor coordination, seasonal merchandising, and specialty sales growth.
- TABC, alcohol seller/server certification, food handler certification, or similar compliance training is preferred.
