The Ai Lab has recently relocated from Newborn Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School to the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, Washington University. The lab focuses on pathogenic mechanisms of respiratory diseases affecting infants and young children (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/1DULglqEPRsIi2/bibliography/public/) with an overarching goal of finding a cure.
One postdoc position is tailored for a project that investigates the lung tissue resident T helper 2 memory program driving the progression of asthma from childhood to adulthood. The other postdoc position is tailored for a drug screen project to identify small molecule compounds that reduce RSV infection in infant bronchial epithelial cells. Both projects employs cell and molecular biology techniques, mouse genetics, patient lung samples, and cell-based disease models. Successful candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in the field of lung development, stem cell biology, inflammation, or infection. A record of creativity and productivity are required.
The research assistant will be responsible for lab management, ordering, animal work, and performing experiments to assist the two postdocs. Successful candidates should hold a BS degree or equivalent. Previous lab experience is not required but recommended.
