Despite decades of progress, too many patients still encounter treatments that are hard to access, imprecise, or poorly suited to their specific type of cancer. Position Summary

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to support clinical and translational research initiatives in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, oncology, and radiopharmaceutical therapy.

This position is designed for an early-career professional with a strong interest in biomedical research, health data science, clinical medicine, or cancer care. The Research Associate will work closely with physicians, scientists, research coordinators, imaging specialists, and operational leaders to support active research projects with project stakeholder coordination, data collection, assimilation, analysis, and presentation.

The role offers substantial exposure to clinical research operations, working with diverse types of clinical data and systems (PACS, RIS, EMR/EHR), scientific writing, methodology and regulatory documentation, imaging-based research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and professional development in a rapidly growing field of theranostic cancer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clinical and translational research projects related to data-driven personalized care, PET/SPECT imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, dosimetry, oncology, and treatment outcomes.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain research data from imaging studies, clinical records, laboratory values, therapy records, and follow-up outcomes.
  • Assist with study design, protocol development, IRB submissions, consent-related materials, study logs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare concise summaries to support manuscripts, grants, protocols, reports, presentations, and internal strategy documents.
  • Perform data quality checks and help maintain accurate, well-organized research datasets.

  • Assist in preparing abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks, white papers, and educational materials.
  • Coordinate meetings, project timelines, action items, and communication among internal and external collaborators.
  • Provide additional research and administrative support for INM scientific initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in biology, neuroscience, chemistry, biomedical engineering, public health, (health) data science or statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Intermediate-level computing literacy (particularly around different data formats and types), and experience with scripting for data processing (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell, Matlab, R, or similar).
  • Strong interest in biomedical research, clinical medicine, oncology, radiopharmaceutical therapy, imaging, and healthcare innovation in general.
  • Ability to quickly learn new research methods, clinical workflows, software platforms, and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work carefully with scientific, clinical, and regulatory information.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with clinical or life sciences research, or work experience with a hospital, imaging center, academic department, or healthcare organization.
  • Familiarity with clinical databases (EMR/RIS/PACS), REDCap, statistical software, and project management workflows and tools.
  • Prior experience with medical imaging, nuclear medicine, radiology, oncology, clinical trials, or health data.
  • Experience contributing to abstracts, posters, manuscripts, presentations, or scientific reports.
  • Interest in, imaging biomarkers, dosimetry, clinical trial operations, outcomes research, or healthcare implementation.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range is $40,000-$50,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and role scope.
