An employee in this class is responsible for obtaining, compiling, analyzing, and distributing crime data. Duties include conducting research, evaluating data, establishing patterns and trends, preparing documents and reports with intelligence information for distribution, and preparing response to data practice requests, including redaction and distribution of records for the Sheriff’s Office, in accordance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. This work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

• Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, statistics, legal studies, or closely related field; OR Associate’s Degree AND two (2) years full-time, paid, verifiable experience in a law enforcement agency, with responsibility for compiling and analyzing data; OR four (4) years of full-time, paid, verifiable experience in a law enforcement agency, with responsibility for compiling and analyzing data;
• Possession of Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within six (6) months of employment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
