Digital Media & Graphic Design Coordinator

Midwest United FC is West Michigan's premier youth soccer club, serving players ages 3 – adult through programs including MLS NEXT, Girls Academy, USL League Two, and USL W League. As a youth academy affiliate of the Columbus Crew and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the club is dedicated to growing the game of soccer in West Michigan while developing players for the collegiate and professional levels. With thousands of families involved across the club's programs and a growing semi-pro presence, Midwest United FC is looking for a creative, organized storyteller to bring the club's brand to life online and in print.

 

Position Summary

The Digital Media & Graphic Design Coordinator is responsible for shaping how Midwest United FC looks and sounds across every public touchpoint — from Instagram and Facebook to game-day graphics, team photos, sponsor materials, and event signage. This is a hybrid creative/marketing role, ideal for someone who wants ownership over a club's visual identity and daily content strategy, and who's excited to work at the intersection of soccer, community, and design.

 

This is a full-time, in-person/hybrid position based in Grand Rapids, with regular attendance at practices, games, and club events (including evenings and weekends during the season).

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Social Media Management

- Plan, create, and publish daily content across Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms for MLS NEXT, Girls Academy, USL League Two, USL W League, and youth programs

- Cover games, tournaments, tryouts, and community events with live or same-day content (photos, Reels/short-form video, stories)

- Maintain a content calendar aligned with the club's competitive and recruiting seasons

- Track engagement metrics and adjust content strategy to grow reach and community engagement

  • Monitor and respond to comments/messages in a manner consistent with club voice and values

- Work closely with club directors, coaches, and the administrators to align content with club-wide initiatives

 

Graphic Design

- Design social graphics, game-day graphics, schedules, flyers, and digital ads

- Produce print materials for tryouts, camps, tournaments, and sponsor recognition

- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines (logos, colors, typography) across all teams and programs

- Support merchandise, uniform, and signage design in coordination with club leadership and vendors

- Create templates that other staff/coaches can use consistently across teams

 

**Photography/Videography (Basic to Intermediate)**

- Shoot and edit photos/video at games and events for use across social and marketing channels

- Maintain a searchable media library/archive for the club

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

- 1–3 years of experience in graphic design, social media management, or a related marketing role

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva for team-based workflows

- Demonstrated experience managing brand accounts on Instagram and Facebook, including short-form video (Reels/TikTok-style content)

- Photography/photo-editing skills; basic video editing (Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar)

- Excellent time management skills — comfortable juggling multiple teams/programs and tight game-day turnarounds

- Strong written communication and attention to brand voice and consistency

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between fields/events

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Familiarity with youth or club sports environments

- Experience with content scheduling tools (Later, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, etc.)

- Basic knowledge of website content management (Wix, Squarespace, or similar)

- Personal passion for or knowledge of soccer/club soccer landscape
