Position Summary
As an Escrow & Business Development Specialist, you'll coordinate real estate transactions from contract through closing while helping grow Abacus throughout West Michigan.
This is not simply an office position.
You'll become one of the faces of Abacus by developing relationships throughout the real estate community while helping buyers and sellers complete one of the most important transactions of their lives.
Travel between our Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Hastings offices is an important part of this position.
Primary Responsibilities
Escrow & Closing
- Coordinate residential and commercial real estate transactions
- Schedule and conduct closing appointments
- Prepare and review settlement statements and closing documents
- Communicate with buyers, sellers, lenders, Realtors, attorneys, and borrowers
- Ensure transactions are completed accurately and efficiently
- Resolve issues that arise before closing
- Deliver an exceptional client experience from beginning to end
Business Development
Help grow Abacus throughout West Michigan by:
- Building relationships with Realtors, lenders, attorneys, builders, and investors
- Visiting real estate offices and lending institutions
- Representing Abacus at networking events, community events, and industry functions
- Identifying opportunities to expand our referral network
- Strengthening existing client relationships
- Promoting the Abacus brand throughout the communities we serve
Marketing & Community Engagement
Experience with marketing is highly valued.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with social media marketing
- Creating engaging content highlighting closings, community involvement, and educational topics
- Supporting marketing campaigns
- Assisting with photography and video content
- Helping grow Abacus's online presence
- Promoting company events and community partnerships
Creativity is encouraged.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, as travel between offices and local business development activities are part of this position.
