Director Of Logistics

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Logistics to oversee and optimize the flow of materials, equipment, and resources across residential construction and remodeling projects. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring timely procurement, delivery coordination, inventory management, and on-site readiness to support efficient project execution.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, and skilled at managing logistics operations in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including procurement, scheduling, and delivery coordination.
  • Manage material sourcing, vendor relationships, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ensure timely delivery of construction materials to job sites to avoid project delays.
  • Develop and optimize logistics systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor inventory levels, ordering schedules, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and suppliers to align logistics with project timelines.
  • Track logistics performance metrics such as delivery accuracy, cost efficiency, and turnaround times.
  • Identify and resolve supply chain issues or delays proactively.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Implement tools and systems to improve tracking, forecasting, and logistics visibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
  • Experience in construction, remodeling, or a related industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with logistics, ERP, or project management software.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in residential construction logistics or material coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and job site operations.
  • Strong negotiation skills with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ability to design and implement efficient logistics systems.
