About Maroon

Maroon is building a relationship-intelligence platform that helps people understand compatibility through psychology, behavioral data, and AI. We are creating tools that move dating and relationships beyond swiping by helping users understand who they are, what they value, and who they are most compatible with.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to help build and improve core product features across Maroon’s mobile and web experience. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on startup experience and is excited to ship quickly, work closely with founders, and contribute to a real consumer product.

Responsibilities

Build and improve user-facing features for Maroon’s app and web experiences

Work on frontend flows, onboarding, profiles, assessments, matching experiences, and internal tools

Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to turn ideas into working features

Debug issues, improve performance, and help make the product feel polished

Participate in product discussions and contribute ideas based on user behavior and feedback

Ideal Candidate

Experience with frontend or full-stack development

Familiarity with React, Flutter, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Firebase, or AWS is a plus

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly

Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment

Excited about consumer apps, dating, relationships, psychology, or social products

Internship Structure

This is a 5-week internship. At the end of the internship, we will review performance, collaboration, speed of execution, and overall feedback. If feedback is strong, the internship may convert into a longer-term part-time, contract, or full-time engineering role.
