Graphic Designer — Meridian Impressions
About Us
Meridian Impressions is a wide format printing startup, and we mean startup in the literal sense — we're building this thing from the ground up, right now, with the people we bring on at this stage. We help businesses turn their ideas into banners, signage, displays, vehicle wraps, and everything else that needs to be big, sharp, and impossible to ignore.
We're not a big shop pretending to be scrappy for the brand voice. We actually are small, and that's the point. The people who join us now aren't going to be employee number 4,000 — they're going to help shape how we work, what we stand for, and what kind of company this becomes.
The Role
We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our founding team. You'll be the person turning client ideas into print-ready files that hold up at 10 feet wide and still look sharp up close — which is a different skill than designing for a screen, and we want someone who already gets that, or is eager to learn it fast.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Designing and prepping artwork for large-format printing (banners, signs, wraps, displays)
- Working directly with clients to understand what they need, and pushing back when their file isn't going to print well
- Managing color, resolution, and bleed for large-scale output (this is not the same as a social media graphic)
- Helping us build templates and a workflow as we figure out what works, since a lot of this doesn't exist here yet
- Wearing other hats occasionally, because that's what early-stage means
You might be a good fit if you:
- Have experience with print design, ideally large format (but we'll consider strong general design experience with a willingness to learn the specifics)
- Know your way around Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; InDesign is a plus
- Understand print production basics — DPI, color modes, bleed, file prep
- Like the idea of building something rather than maintaining something
- Can take a vague client request and turn it into something concrete
- Are comfortable with the startup reality: things will be undefined, priorities will shift, and you'll have more ownership than a typical first design job
Why Join Now
Honestly, the timing is the pitch. We're small enough that your work won't get lost, your opinion will actually shape decisions, and the title on your business card today might look pretty different from where it lands in two years — because you grew with it. If you want a comfortable, fully-defined role at an established company, this isn't quite that yet. If you want to help build one, let's talk.
How to Apply
Send us your portfolio (large-format or print work especially welcome) along with a quick note on why this stage of company appeals to you. We read everything ourselves — no automated filters here yet either
