Market Research Intern
What you'll do:
Research mid-sized professional services firms (50-300 people) across law, accounting, architecture and engineering, and financial advisory, and identify the ones showing signs of structural strain.
For each firm, find the two people who matter: the operations leader who feels the problem and the managing partner who funds the solution.
Map the conferences, associations, and podcasts where these firms gather, with submission windows and contacts, so HPG can earn its way onto more stages.
Build everything into a working CRM system the company uses every week.
What you'll build (yours to claim):
- A qualified prospect database of 100+ target firms, each with named decision-makers and the trigger that makes them a fit.
- A speaking opportunity map covering 20+ events and outlets with deadlines and contacts
- A live, structured CRM that outlasts your internship
Skills you'll gain:
- Run structured market research and turn raw findings into a decision-ready picture
- Read an organization from the outside and find who holds the problem and the budget
- Design and maintain a CRM, systems work that transfers to sales, operations, and research roles
- Present findings and recommendations to people who will act on them
Who you are:
- You'll need to be organized and genuinely curious. Comfortable digging through firm websites, LinkedIn, and directories, and patient enough to get the details right.
- It'd be helpful (but not required) if you had prior work using CRMs, a solid comfort level with spreadsheets, and an interest in how professional services firms grow.
Support and mentorship:
- You'll report directly to the founder and meet weekly to review your work, set your goals, and get specific feedback. You'll sit in on real client conversations and close the internship by presenting what you built and learned.
