Job Description
Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Job Summary: Responsible for Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Materials, Price Negotiation and Contracts.
Job Functions:
- Quotes and procures procuring materials, components, equipment and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need
- Expedites and ensures the timely receipt of materials
- Works with engineering and SQE to recommend new suppliers
- Issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates prices, delivery, and adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner
- Follows-up on orders, negotiate vendor contracts, verify deliveries, approve payments, and maintain necessary inventory levels
- Leads purchasing activities with manufacturing departments to maintain inventory at planned levels
- Reviews MRP on a regular basis and be responsible for executing and cancelling pull ins, push outs and planned orders as prioritized
- Other duties as assigned.

- Qualifications
- Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin. Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
- 2 years of experience in procurement or over 2 years of logistics or over 2 years of project management
- Undergraduate and above (science major preferred)
- The employee is regularly required o stand or sit for long periods. Duties will include long periods of viewing a computer monitor
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
- Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software
- Bachelor's Degree with at least five years’ experience in a purchasing role
- Must have strong analytical capabilities and initiative to take action as appropriate and necessary
- Should have an independent & organized work style with the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work responsibilities, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision while ensuring that deadlines are met
- Must have a proactive approach to identify and resolve manufacturing related issues
- Should have demonstrated strength working in a team oriented environment
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, ERP Systems (Plex), Logistics databases, MRP, and other reporting tools
