Swine Production Manager Trainee - NC and MO Locations
You will learn, demonstrate knowledge and skills, and becomes certified in all aspects of MFV's systems and the pork industry standards. This position reports DAILY to a Sow Farm in our system. You will be on a development plan that prepares you for s supervisory role at the farm level once completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Becomes certified in all farm department areas including fulfilling all the requirements and responsibilities listed under the Breeding/Farrowing job description.
- Gains a solid understanding of and ability to implement company systems such as pig production processes, animal flow, farm health, genetics, husbandry, etc.
- Performs and masters all hourly jobs under supervision. Becomes certified in each job after showing competence and skill/understanding in each.
- Develops and establishes rapport/relationships with all personnel and management.
- Develops and prepares required reports on experiences encountered and addresses/shares opportunities for improvement.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by management according to standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, do frequent stooping, bending and climbing.
- Ability to fulfill a work schedule beginning at 7 a.m. and working until work completed each day. Work every third weekend including both Saturday and Sunday.
- Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures applicable to Murphy Family Ventures.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
