The State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is currently accepting applications for multiple Consumer Protection Drug Control Agents within the Cannabis Control Division.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- SCHEDULE: Full-Time (40 Hour), First Shift, Monday - Friday (may include nights and weekends)

- *Salary effective 6/26/26, new State employees start at minimum

THE ROLE:
The Consumer Protection Drug Control Agents assigned to the Cannabis Control Division can expect to:
- Assist in the coordination, planning and management of enforcement activities.
- Interpret, relay, and enforce pertinent laws.
- Conduct presentations to Law Enforcement organizations and local government about the laws regarding hemp, Adult-Use Cannabis, Medical Marijuana and infused beverages.
- Assist in the formulation of program goals and objectives and track their progress.
- Analyze and interpret data regarding cannabis and hemp.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other state agencies to conduct compliance initiatives to ensure laws are being followed related to licensure and business activities.
- Summarize and communicate findings and corrective actions following inspections and investigations.
- Write reports to support administrative action as needed.
- Attend meetings and conferences with or in place of supervisor.
- Answer questions and review complaints from the public.
- Follow developments in hemp and cannabis laws and policies.
- Other related duties as required.

The Cannabis Control Division oversees compliance and enforcement of all laws and regulations concerning the sale and distribution of hemp, Adult-Use Cannabis, Medical Marijuana and infused beverages within Connecticut. We are responsible for the administration, compliance and enforcement of the state's Medical Marijuana Program and Adult Use Cannabis Program. This includes issuing licenses, performing inspections and conducting investigations at manufacturing and retailing establishments.
