Product Operations Intern, Data & AI

Transit Technologies is seeking a Product Operations Intern to support our Data & AI product team. This intern will help with day-to-day product operations across AI and analytics initiatives, including bug tracking, client feedback follow-up, beta program coordination, requirements support, testing support, and cross-functional project tracking. This is a strong opportunity for someone interested in product operations and product management who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and excited to work at the intersection of product, data, AI, and client-facing execution.

Overview

Transit Technologies is looking for a Product Operations Intern to support our Data & AI product initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, curious, proactive, and excited to learn how product teams operate in a fast-moving environment.

This intern will help support the day-to-day operations of a growing product area that spans AI-powered analytics, beta programs, client feedback loops, bug tracking, requirements support, internal coordination, and launch readiness. The role is not expected to own product strategy independently, but will play an important role in helping the team stay organized, responsive, and execution-focused.

The intern will work closely with the Product Manager for Data & AI and partner across Product, Engineering, QA, Client Success, and other internal and external teams.

 

Role details

· Reports to: Product Manager, Data & AI

· Position type: Part-time or full-time internship

· Compensation: $20

· Location: Remote

· Suggested student background: Business, Product development, software-focused programs, computer science, analytics, or related fields

 

What this role will support

This role will help support a portfolio of active and emerging Data & AI initiatives, including:

· AI-driven analytics and active beta programs with clients

· Feature validation through application testing

· Ongoing bug tracking, enhancement intake, and client feedback follow-up

· Cross-functional coordination with engineering, QA, vendors, and internal stakeholders

 

Key responsibilities

Day-to-day product support

· Help track open bugs, enhancement requests, risks, and follow-up items

· Maintain organized product trackers, status notes, action items, and backlog support materials

· Assist with client feedback intake, documentation, and synthesis

· Help prepare for client check-ins, feedback sessions, and internal reviews

· Capture meeting notes, action items, and ownership across product discussions

· Follow up with internal stakeholders to keep open work moving

Beta program and launch coordination

· Support beta program operations by helping monitor access issues, reported bugs, enhancement requests, and client follow-ups

· Help organize feedback from deep-dive sessions and summarize key themes

· Assist with launch-readiness activities, including documentation, tracking dependencies, and coordination across teams

· Help ensure open items are visible and progressing ahead of GA

 

Product development support

· Assist with writing and organizing requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation

· Help validate use cases, edge cases, and workflow questions with internal teams

· Support backlog grooming and prioritization preparation

· Help connect feedback from clients, support, and internal stakeholders into actionable product inputs

QA and operational support

· Assist with testing new functionality and documenting issues clearly for engineering

· Help coordinate validation of product flows and user experience across active workstreams

· Support product QA preparation by organizing test scenarios, findings, and follow-up items

What we're looking for

 

Must have

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple threads of work at once and keep details from slipping

· Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

· Strong follow-through and willingness to take initiative

· Interest in product management, SaaS products, analytics, AI, or enterprise software

· Ability to synthesize notes, feedback, and open issues into clear summaries and action items

· Resourceful and comfortable learning new tools quickly

Should have

· Exposure to product management, project coordination, business analysis, operations, or similar work

· Experience with AI tools, presentations, and workplace collaboration tools

· Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders

· Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to ask good questions

 

Nice to have

· Interest in AI-powered products, analytics, or data platforms

· Experience supporting beta programs, user research, customer feedback, or software testing

· Familiarity with bug tracking, backlog management, or agile product development

· Interest in technology, transportation, operations, or enterprise workflow software

What success looks like

In this role, a successful intern will:

· Help bring structure and follow-through to a fast-moving set of product initiatives

· Improve visibility into bugs, enhancements, client feedback, and open action items

· Support coordination of initiatives that improve and evolve our product experience

· Help keep beta programs and in-flight initiatives organized and moving

· Contribute inputs, research, and execution support that help inform product strategy, prioritization, and roadmap planning

· Supporting AI and analytics products from beta through launch readiness

· Working across client feedback, engineering coordination, requirements, and QA

· Learning how product managers balance strategy with execution

· Understanding how to operate across multiple stakeholders, products, and priorities
