Digitizing Immunization Records Internship
Project Description:
The Kentucky Immunization Registry (KYIR) is managed by the Kentucky Department of Public Health. It's a system that is used to collect and share immunization records for Kentucky residents. The purpose of this project is to transfer immunization records from paper into the KYIR system.
Goals/Objectives of Project:
This process will assist with streamlining the data access. This student experience is designed to give students an opportunity to work in the field of public health. Our team of public health professionals will be relying on you for operational support, while also providing you the chance to get on-the-job training and experience.
Required Skills:
- Computer skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Students must be able to use basic office equipment (such as a scanner)
- Microsoft Excel
- Be detail oriented, reliable, self motivated, and able to adhere to work plans and tasks
Preferred Skills:
- Training will be provided on how to review and enter records in KYIR
- The ability to multitask
