Summer Clinical Research Intern

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Clinical Research Intern to support patient recruitment, marketing initiatives, and database development activities at our clinical research site. This position offers hands-on exposure to clinical research operations and is ideal for students pursuing careers in medicine, public health, clinical research, healthcare administration, or related fields.

The intern will play a key role in participant outreach and recruitment efforts for ongoing clinical trials while assisting with the development and organization of a centralized patient database within our clinical trial management system.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Marketing

• Assist with patient recruitment efforts for active clinical research studies
• Conduct outreach to potential participants via phone, email, and text communication
• Support community engagement and study awareness initiatives
• Help develop and distribute recruitment materials and marketing content
• Track recruitment metrics and maintain accurate outreach records
• Assist with social media and digital marketing efforts, as applicable

Data Management

• Review, organize, and clean patient data records
• Assist with creating and maintaining a centralized patient database in Clinical Conductor
• Import, update, and validate participant information
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze, organize, and manage large datasets
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of participant records
• Support process improvement initiatives related to patient tracking and recruitment workflows

Qualifications

Required

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfortable working with databases and large datasets

Preferred

• Interest in healthcare, medicine, public health, psychology, biology, or clinical research
• Experience with data entry, CRM systems, or database management
• Familiarity with social media marketing and outreach strategies
