Quarto Publishing Group USA is part of the global Quarto publishing brand, with more than 20 imprints creating and publishing illustrated books for North America and international markets. Our work spans a wide range of visually engaging, content-rich formats designed to inspire readers of all ages.
We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Design Intern to join our New York Design Team for the Fall 2026 Internship Program. This program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world design experience while continuing their undergraduate studies.
Program Details
- Duration: September 2026 – December 2026
- Schedule: Part Time- approx. 20-29hrs per week
- Location: Hybrid (New York office with remote flexibility)
- Potential Extension: Opportunity to continue into the Spring 2027 Internship Program (January–April 2027)
As a member of the New York Design Team, the intern will work across multiple imprints and contribute to a variety of creative projects. Under the guidance of the Creative Director, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting design projects across book and product development
- Assisting with layout, composition, and visual concept development
- Preparing design files and presentation materials
- Contributing to creative requests from the Design and Publishing teams
- Participating in collaborative team discussions and workflow processes
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled full-time as a junior or senior in an undergraduate Graphic Design or related program (graduate students in design-related programs may also be considered)
- Ability to work both remotely and on-site throughout the program
- Strong portfolio demonstrating:
- Layout, composition, and design fundamentals
- Creative problem-solving and visual storytelling
- Effective use of typography and color
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
- InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Comfortable working on Mac OS
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of print design, page layout, grids, and typography
- Experience with preparing files for print production
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
