Business Development Intern (Sales & Operations)

Location: Jackson, Memphis, Nashville, and surrounding areas

Job Summary

Are you a college student looking to gain real-world business experience and build professional sales skills? The Business Development Internship (Sales & Operations) is designed to teach you the fundamentals of B2B sales — including how to perform various operational roles, schedule deliveries, generate quotes, process orders, confidently make sales calls, connect with decision-makers, and schedule meetings that generate warm leads for our full-time sales representatives.

This internship walks you through the full life of a sale — first conversation, quote, and delivery — building foundational operational and sales skills that are transferable to any business career.

What You’ll Learn & Do

  • Make outbound calls to local businesses to introduce our company and start conversations
  • Learn how to qualify prospects and schedule meetings for senior sales reps
  • Generate quotes and delivery schedules that support the outside sales team
  • Use professional prospecting software to research and identify potential customers and markets
  • Develop confidence communicating in a B2B (business-to-business) sales environment
  • Accompany sales reps on client visits to gain real-world exposure
  • Learn how to position and present A-1 Chemical and GenPac products to businesses
  • Identify and resolve pain points for real-world customers

This internship focuses heavily on building foundational operational and sales skills that are transferable to any business career.

Who This Is For

  • Current college students
  • Interested in pursuing a career in sales, business development, logistics, operations, marketing, or entrepreneurship
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone and eager to improve communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Coachable and open to feedback
  • Willing to travel locally for occasional client visits
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

No prior sales experience required — we provide training.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Hybrid (office + field work) with weekly in-office requirement
  • Work location: Jackson, Memphis, Nashville, and surrounding areas
