Emergency Response Corps Member
The California Emergency Response Corps is a statewide Americorps program where members support disaster preparedness, response, and long-term recovery through education, outreach, and direct service in communities across California.
Qualifications
- Age 18 or older
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or national
- Live locally to CSU Monterey Bay
- Able to deploy for up to two weeks on short notice
What You’ll Do
- 11-month 40-hour-week service term running from Fall 2026 through Summer 2027
- Work with the CSUMB Emergency Manager on campus preparedness projects and outreach.
- Support emergency operations, communications, and recovery efforts during disasters
- Build partnerships and community organizations serving vulnerable residents
- Attend CERC-wide, regional, and site-specific trainings. Training includes, but is not limited to, skill-building specific to members’ duties; workshops on personal and professional development; team-building exercises and service-learning projects delivered during Member orientation and retreats
