Jr. Accounts Receivable Research Analyst

About the Role

Encore Funding is looking for a Jr. Accounts Receivable Research Analyst to support our financial operations through payment research, data analysis, and reconciliation processes. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with vendor management system (VMS) payment research, organizing financial data, and ensuring accurate cash application across systems. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented position that plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial processes.

This is a true entry-level analytical role where you will build foundational accounting and finance skills while gaining exposure to complex reconciliation workflows. 

What You Will Do

• Conduct daily VMS client payment research and support miscellaneous research requests
• Create and maintain Excel files using formulas such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• Match employee timecards with invoice and payment data across multiple systems
• Cross-reference VMS data with internal financial systems to ensure accuracy
• Identify and communicate discrepancies to accounting and internal stakeholders
• Assist with cash application, account reconciliation, and ledger balancing
• Support data organization and reporting for financial operations
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client payment issues

What You Bring

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
• 0–2 years of relevant accounting, finance, or data analysis experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, sorting, pivot tables)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented mindset

Work Details

• Full-time, permanent position
• Monday–Friday schedule
• 100% onsite at our Pepper Pike, Ohio office
• Must be able to commute or relocate
