Backend Application Support

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support, monitoring, and maintenance of backend applications and services to ensure high availability and system stability.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve backend application issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Manage and triage support tickets related to backend systems, APIs, and integrations, escalating critical issues as appropriate.
  • Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts; proactively identify and address bottlenecks, failures, or anomalies.
  • Support and maintain database environments including queries, schema updates, and data integrity checks (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Assist in deploying application updates, patches, and hotfixes across staging and production environments.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, QA, and product teams to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and document resolutions.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and incident reports.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Participate in on-call rotations or escalation processes to support business-critical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in backend application support, systems administration, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of Python and familiarity with web frameworks (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and the ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web protocols (HTTP, JSON), and third-party integrations.
  • Experience with Git, version control workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work fully onsite in Las Vegas, NV.
