DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer
Development & IT Operations Engineer: AI Infrastructure
Norwalk, CT

Gradient Ridge is a long/short equity hedge fund operating at the intersection of fundamental investing and agentic research, seeking to apply AI at the leading edge of investment research and execution. We are actively hiring a DevOps Engineer to help build and run the infrastructure that allows our team to move fast: standing up environments, automating workflows, and operating the systems behind our AI infrastructure. We are committed to a positive, performance-driven culture where the pace is fast, the problems are hard, our standards are high, and every team member’s work has direct, measurable impact.

Job Description:

  • Part of a team, working alongside engineers, and investment professionals
  • Help build and maintain Linux server environments and Docker-based deployments
  • Write Python tooling to automate infrastructure and support data and research workflows
  • Help operate the infrastructure behind LLM applications, harness and evaluate pipelines, and MCP servers
  • Partner with researchers and engineers to make AI experimentation fast, reproducible, and production-ready

Experience:

  • ~2 years of relevant experience
  • BS in hard science (physics, chemistry, biology, math, CS, or similar)
  • Hands-on skills with Linux, Docker, and Python
  • Exposure to data science and demonstrated curiosity in applying AI to financial markets, prediction markets, sports betting, or related fields
  • Familiarity (or eagerness to go deep) with LLMs, harness engineering, and MCP servers
  • A persistent high achiever who runs hard, works independently, and is relentless

What will make you stand out:

  • Open-source contributions or substantial personal projects we can look at; evidence you build things
  • If you spin up outside projects to understand new tools, we want to see them — include links to your GitHub, projects, or anything you're proud of.
