Donor Relations Coordinator
In this role, the Donor Relations Coordinator will support and embody an EPIC mindset to support the Development Department in meeting its goals by maintaining and expanding donor and volunteer relationships, and by playing a critical part in the work and dedication of Community Action Partnership of Orange County’s initiatives. WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH IN THIS ROLE
Under the direction of the Philanthropy Director, the Donor Relations Coordinator will act as a frontline fundraiser for CAP OC. This position will manage and assist with all things Development, including but not limited to, managing a portfolio, gift stewardship and data entry, networking, and event management.
The hourly pay rate is $23.00 - $24.00.
This position will work a hybrid schedule, with three to four days in the workplace as needed and determined by the reporting manager.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Donor Stewardship and Communications
- Supports stewardship and engagement across giving segments, including a focus on monthly donors, annual campaigns, and other donors as assigned
- Track donor activity and engagement while helping to identify opportunities for deeper engagement
- Assist with donor communications, including acknowledgements, impact updates, campaigns and stewardship
- Prepare materials for donor meetings, tours, and cultivation opportunities
- Maintain accurate donor records and actions across any and all systems
- Volunteer Support
- Support coordination and scheduling of volunteer groups
- Assist in post-volunteer follow up and cultivations
- Help identify prospective donors
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth and welcoming volunteer experience
- Engage with volunteer groups during their shifts
- Help manage Volunteer CRM system
- Event Support
- Assist ith planning and execution of donor and volunteer events, including logistics, outreach, and coordination
- Support in pre-event preparations, including outreach, RSVP management, and event materials
- Manage onsite event needs including set up, strike, registration, and guest experience
- Support procurement and tracking on in-kind donations in preparation for managing auctions
- Administrative & Operations Support
- Process invoices, track payments, and support basic financial coordination for philanthropy activities
- Enter and maintain accurate data across donor, volunteer, and corporate records in CRM systems
- Support gift processing and ensure timely receipting and acknowledgment
- Maintain organized files, reports, and tracking systems
- Assist with ensuring proper gift acknowledgment
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two years of non-profit or similar experience, with a focus on fundraising, volunteer engagement, and community outreach experience is highly desirable for this role. Familiarity with software systems Raiser’s Edge NXT and/or Raiser’s Edge and Volunteer Hub is a plus. While a bachelor’s degree is preferred, equivalent work experience will also be considered.
TRAVEL
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with a driving record that meets minimum standards established by CAP OC’s insurance carrier, proof of vehicle insurance, access to a vehicle and willingness to drive/travel when required.
Typically, travel is required throughout Orange County, and occasionally to other areas as needed, during the business day using the incumbent’s personal vehicle. Possible travel during evening hours, possible out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, reach, pull, push, stand, kneel, sit, twist, turn, walk, bend at the waist, talk, and hear. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, and perform prolonged computer work. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to twenty (20) pounds. Employee may be called upon to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND BACKGROUND CHECK
A medical examination is required of each new employee whose physical condition must meet the minimum requirements prescribed for the position.
