We're seeking an experienced, dynamic ASC Nurse Manager to lead our clinical team and oversee the daily operations of our Ambulatory Surgical Center. This is a high-impact leadership role for a polished clinical leader who brings strong perioperative and vascular procedural experience, exceptional organizational and leadership ability, and a proven track record of managing staff, workflows, compliance, and clinical operations in a fast-paced ASC environment.
Position Summary
The ASC Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall clinical, operational, and administrative management of the Ambulatory Surgical Center. This leadership role oversees nursing operations across the Pre-Operative, Operating Room (OR), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU/Post-Op) departments while ensuring exceptional patient care, staff performance, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Oversight — provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations across Pre-Op, OR, and PACU; ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality care throughout every phase of the surgical experience; support physicians and clinical teams during vascular and minimally invasive procedures; oversee patient flow, clinical efficiency, and quality-improvement initiatives; monitor patient outcomes and implement best practices; and ensure adherence to infection-prevention, patient-safety, and emergency-preparedness protocols.
Staff Management & Team Leadership — supervise, mentor, and support Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, and clinical support staff; lead staff scheduling and daily staffing coordination to ensure appropriate clinical coverage; conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and competency assessments; participate in recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention of clinical staff; foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture; and coordinate ongoing clinical education, in-services, and staff development programs.
Operational Management — oversee day-to-day ASC operations to ensure a smooth, efficient workflow; develop and manage nursing schedules, staffing assignments, and coverage plans; collaborate with physicians and administrative leadership on operational planning and workflow optimization; monitor procedure scheduling and coordinate resources to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction; and ensure timely completion of clinical documentation and nursing workflows within Athena and SIS EHR.
Compliance, Policies & Quality Assurance — ensure compliance with OSHA, AAAHC/Joint Commission standards, infection-control guidelines, and all state and federal regulations; develop, implement, and maintain nursing protocols, policies, and clinical procedures; lead quality-assurance, risk-management, and performance-improvement initiatives; conduct audits and oversee compliance reporting and corrective action plans as necessary; and ensure all clinical staff maintain current licensure, certifications, and competencies.
Budgeting & Inventory Management — assist with budgeting, operational planning, and cost-management initiatives; monitor supply utilization and oversee inventory management for medications, surgical supplies, and clinical equipment; coordinate ordering, vendor relationships, and restocking processes to maintain operational readiness; and identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction while maintaining quality standards.
Reporting & Administrative Oversight — prepare operational, staffing, and compliance reports for leadership review; track key performance indicators, clinical metrics, incident reports, and quality-improvement data; participate in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives for ASC growth and development; and ensure accurate reporting and documentation related to patient care, safety incidents, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current ACLS/BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, perioperative services, vascular surgery, cardiology, or procedural care
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience in a surgical or outpatient setting
- Strong knowledge of ASC operations, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (Athena and SIS preferred)
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Direct experience with Athena and SIS EHR systems
Compensation and Details
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $100,000 – $150,000 per year

This range reflects the wide range of factors considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs, and has not been adjusted for any geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. Reasonable estimate of the current range: $100,000 – $150,000 per year.
