GAB Association Intern

The Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) is hiring a paid intern for a 10-week program during 2026. The intern will work an estimated 25 hours per week.
The Association Intern will focus on initiatives to further develop the association as a business with a focus on planning and development of the GAB’s annual convention (GABCON). The intern will visit member stations to learn how the association can best serve its membership; gain an understanding about the GAB’s operations as an association; and learn about the GAB's advocacy efforts.
During this paid, 10-week program, the intern will be a part of a dynamic, evolving association serving the broadcast industry. The individual must be willing to contribute to all day-to-day functions necessary to complete the mission of the GAB. Ideal candidates will exhibit initiative, creativity, digital aptitude, an understanding of event coordination and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing challenges facing traditional and digital broadcast media while engaging and networking with GAB members.
Applicants must be a recent graduate (<6 months) or currently rolled in an accredited Georgia college or university.
Who We Are:
The Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) is the state’s official broadcast association. The GAB is dedicated to ensuring the vitality and growth of the broadcasting industry in Georgia by advocating for the interest of radio and television broadcasters.
Our membership is comprised of more than 400 radio and television broadcasters who reach more than 95% of Georgia’s population each week. The GAB offices are located in the North Atlanta area; however, our membership represents all 159 counties in the state.
The GAB provides technical, regulatory and advocacy support to its members, as well as, offering continued professional enrichment opportunities designed to keep Georgia broadcasters at the forefront of the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the GAB’s role as an association and its significance to its membership
- Assist with coordinating/execution efforts for GAB events
- Assist with administering and coordinating member benefit programs such as: Member Mixers; GABCON; Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP); the GAB PEP Program; and more
- Brainstorm GAB’s Education Foundation initiatives and recognition efforts
- Assist with Government and Member Relations efforts
- Provide staff support as needed
- Write up of your experience at completion of internship
- Documentation of at least one project during course of internship
Requirements:
- APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THE ENTIRE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 25th & 26th
- Ability to work 20 – 25 hours each week
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Personal laptop
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exemplary interpersonal relation skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to stay organized
- Self-starter
- A passion and curiosity for working for a state association
- Access to transportation for commute to and from the office
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in video editing software
- Experience with social media marketing
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.)
- Experience with WordPress
- Understanding of event management
