Home Care Administrative Intern

Assists the Director in overseeing the daily operations of a home care agency, including coordinating client services, supporting staff scheduling and supervision, maintaining compliance with agency policies and regulations, and contributing to quality assurance initiatives. 

Gains hands-on experience in care management, administrative processes, and organizational leadership within a home care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director with day-to-day agency operations and administrative tasks
  • Support the coordination of client care plans and service scheduling
  • Help manage caregiver schedules, assignments, and attendance tracking
  • Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, and training activities
  • Assist with maintaining client and employee records in compliance with agency policies
  • Monitor and support adherence to state and federal home care regulations
  • Contribute to quality assurance reviews and client satisfaction initiatives
  • Help resolve client and caregiver concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Attend and assist in facilitating team meetings and operational discussions
  • Support billing, documentation, and reporting processes as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Strong interest in home care, healthcare management, or social services
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 15–20 hours per week
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Basic understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
