Marketing Intern
Platonic Love is a beloved newsletter at the intersection of culture, creativity, and community — and we’re looking for a Marketing Intern who’s excited to grow with us. If you’re exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, creative, and love writing, this role is for you. This position is especially well-suited to someone who wants hands-on experience in publishing, affiliate marketing, and newsletter/community marketing.
This is a flexible, part-time role (8–10 hours per week) that can fit around a school schedule or another job. Ideally, you’re in the Boston/Cambridge area so we can meet up in person occasionally, but remote candidates are welcome to apply. We’re especially interested in someone who wants to stay with us long-term and grow your responsibilities with the business.
What You’ll Do
✍️ Publishing & Graphic Design (Primary Focus)
- Upload, format, and schedule articles to Substack twice a week
- Create Canva graphics for articles, Substack Notes, and Pinterest
- Maintain visual consistency and help evolve our brand identity across channels
🎨 Brand & Affiliate Partnerships
- Represent Platonic Love via external stakeholder communications and coordination
- Manage affiliate partnerships, including ShopMy opportunities, product features, and coordinated mentions across platforms
- Track partnership performance, payments, and follow-up needs
- Maintain a partnership calendar to ensure placements are timely, strategic, and high-quality
- Support brand outreach strategies and identify new revenue opportunities
⭐ Special Projects & Guest Collaborations
- Manage editorial deadlines for a potential book
- Help us set deadlines leading up to publication and stay on track
- Coordinate any external contributions and ensure timely delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Organized, reliable, and proactive — you manage your own checklist well
- Someone who loves connecting with people and building relationships and is comfortable coordinating with partners and brands / representing Platonic Love externally
- Strong written communication and editing skills
- Experience editing and building graphics from scratch with Canva
- Familiarity with Substack, Asana, and ShopMy (or a willingness to learn quickly)
- Interest in newsletters, influencer marketing, PR, content creation, or media
- Excitement about growing into a bigger role over time as we scale
